Consortium partners (SME-AGs & OTHER) involved in the project have joined together to seek for an alternative remedy for the C8 chemistry to achieve durable oil and water repellent finish for Technical textiles market. Due to the high level of technological expertise required, we seek for the support from the EU and the Research institutes (TWI, UCG, Insa-Lyon) to enable us to achieve the environmentally friendly and durable oil and water repellent finish on textiles. Tex- Shield will develop a sol gel based multifunctional OWR that is less fluorinated or non- fluorinated that can withstand more than 5000 wash cycles.
